Documentation: TROUBLESHOOTING - screen print onto adhesive

Following the print in white on translucent acrylic, I decided to print my xray images onto other surfaces. Then I had the idea of printing them onto clear adhesive, so that they could be cut out and applied to other surfaces like stickers - this would be a convenient way to test compositions, etc.

Not so simple.

Above: showing how difficult it is to see the image when the white backing is still on the duraseal...

As long as the backing is removed, it's easy enough to see the images. BUT...

...as soon as you start peeling and layering them up, and handling them - even when fully dry - the ink easily rubs straight off the plastic, leaving scrape marks, as you can see on the butternut below.

There were significant differences between the different types of white inks (transparent white and opaque white, see the pineapple on the top) and whether it was the first or second pull. Without a paper surface to soak up the ink from the screen's mesh, the ink seemed to not know where to go, so while the first print would look fine, the ink would then 'pool' in between prints which would result in some loss of detail.

I had a few ideas for solutions to these problems - will document soon.
