FOOD: Art For The World

 Art For The World:
FOOD is a large contemporary art show on Mother Earth, Agriculture and Nutrition, started in Geneva in December 2012 with artworks exploring the question of food, a highly complex issue simultaneously dealing with survival, health, economy and culture. Under the patronage of EXPO Milan 2015, the show was organized in partnership with the Department of Culture of the City of Geneva; the world première opening was on December 18, and it remained open until February 24, 2013, in the large temporary exhibitions spaces of the Musée Ariana, a neo-classical building hosting a permanent collection of ceramics and located next to the UN Headquarters.
The show included more than twenty-five art works, among them works by Marina Abramović, John Armleder, Joseph Beuys , Marcel Broodthaers, Lenora de Barros, Mircea Cantor, Subodh Gupta, Jia Zhang-Ke, Jannis Kounellis, Los Carpinteros, Anna Maria Maiolino, Marcello Maloberti, Cildo Meireles, Miralda, Tony Morgan, Liliana Moro, Gianni Motti, Murali Nair, Ernesto Neto, Meret Oppenheim, Idrissa Ouedraogo, Angelo Plessas, Pipilotti Rist, Dieter Roth, Shimabuku, Vivianne van Singer, Raghubir Singh, Daniel Spoerri, Barthélémy Toguo, Pablo Trapero, Nari Ward and the projects Mesa Brasil SESC, Sao Paulo, Brasil and wastecooking, Salzburg, Austria.

I can't believe this show was on in Geneva when I was there (February 2013) - not that I would have known, or known that my art project would head in this direction!
